"We were carrying a water heater, thermos flasks, and meal-prepped containers everywhere we travelled with our daughter — because nothing complete existed on any shelf in India."

I'm an electronics and communications engineer who spent years in the IT industry in India and the United States. In the US, I saw aisles of complete, ready-to-go nutrition for every age — from infants to toddlers to children. When I came back to India, those aisles didn't exist.

After retiring from my active IT career, I wanted to build something that genuinely mattered. Then in 2024, my daughter Kanak was born.

Every trip with her became a logistics operation. We carried clean water, a portable heater, and carefully prepped home food — because the only packaged alternative was formula milk, which isn't designed for toddlers who have already started eating. What existed in the millet powder space was incomplete, chemically-laden, or both.

Totrise was born from that frustration — and from knowing that millions of Indian parents, especially in rural Jharkhand and Bihar, face the same problem without even a water heater to fall back on.
